Instead, we maintain a list of people who have expressed interest in being notified of volunteer opportunities as they arise, and we notify them by means of "e-blasts". We do not turn these names over to the organization requesting help, but rather we pass on its information immediately to those who have listed with us. It is up to the individual to contact the organization in need... or not, if that opportunity doesn't match his or her interests.
